What Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles are available? A Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) is a specially converted vehicle from a standard car, so that it can accommodate a wheelchair. And so that wheelchair users can travel whilst remaining in their wheelchair, either as a car passenger or as the car driver. The size, shape and design of the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle varies, as it depends on the original vehicle that is used for the conversion, but all Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles have been specifically designed for easy access and travelling safety.
