Signs that someone living with dementia may be at risk of wandering
Some of the signs that a person with dementia may be at risk of wandering can be:
He or she tries or wants to "go home" even when they are already at home. He or she has difficulty locating and finding familiar places like their bathroom, bedroom or dining room. He or she returns from a regular walk or drive later than usual. He or she acts as if they are doing a hobby or routine task, but nothing ever gets done. He or she tries to undertake former obligations, such as going to where they used to work. He or she becomes restless, paces and makes repetitive movements. He or she acts nervous and anxious in crowded places, such as supermarkets, shopping centres and restaurants.
